OMRON'S NEW ULTRA-COMPACT, LOW POWER MAGNETIC SWIPE CARD READER DESIGNED FOR EMBEDDED APPLICATIONS

With its ultra-compact size and power conservation features, Omron's new 3S4YR-HZR manual swipe magnetic card reader is ideal for custom keyboards, point-of-sale (POS) systems, hand-held terminals and other space-confined designs.

At only 98.2 mm (W) x 25.2 mm (L) x 23.3 mm (H), the 3S4YR-HZR is one of the slimmest card readers available. Several models allow the PCB to be mounted separately from the card guide housing, saving additional space and enabling designers to incorporate magnetic stripe technology into a variety of products. The 3S4YR-HZR weighs only 26 grams.

CMOS technology and a programmable current-saving "sleep" mode that conserves battery charge in portable devices help conserve energy. Other features of the 3S4YR-HZR manual swipe magnetic card reader include:
