PCA 13 Universal Alarm Indicator

operator efficiency if multiple modules compete for limited
space. To allay this fear, Yamatake-Honeywell's Industrial Systems Division has released
the PCA 13 Universal Alarm Indicator. It accepts DC inputs of 1 to 5 V, 4 to 20 mA, and
input signals from 5 kinds of thermocouples and resistance bulbs. Designed for mounting in
control rooms and on field panels, the PCA 13's target applications include wastewater
processing, public water utilities, power generation and chemical manufacturing.
Alarm indicators generate alarm signals to shut down process loops when errors occur. The PCA 13 can function as a shutdown switch for control of pressure, flow, level or temperature. Two relay contacts generate all alarm signals at ratings of 125VAC /0.5A and 250VAC /0.1A. For loop checking, the PCA 13 outputs a fixed current in the range 4 to 20 mA, eliminating any requirement for an additional constant generator. Indicating LEDs can be either red or green and to reduce misoperations, operator inputs are housed inside the mask, rather than on its front.
