New High Torque Variable Speed System
The new high power density FBL-II Series brushless dc speed control system from Oriental Motor U.S.A. Corp. provides a high constant torque over a variable speed range from 300 to 3000 rpm. These systems provide a maximum speed regulation of -3% at 3000 rpm with rated load. Two models, the FBL575A (75 watts) and the FBL5120A (120 watts) provide continuous torques of 34.7 oz-in and 55.5 oz-in respectively.
The FBL575A-A (3.54" square by 2.24" long) and the FBL5120A-A (3.54" square by 3.15" long) brushless dc motor can be obtained with a pre-mounted low-noise gearhead in 8 ratios varying from 5:1 to 200:1. A FBL575A-GF5G geared motor will develop a continuous torque of 153 oz-in over a speed range of 60 rpm to 600 rpm at the output shaft. A FBL5120A-GF200G geared motor will develop a continuous torque of 4166 oz-in (260 lb-in) over a speed range of 1.5 rpm to 15 rpm.
The compact FBLD75A and FBLD120A drivers (with 115v 60 Hz input) supply a maximum current of 2.6 amps and 3.8 amps respectively. Each driver is provided with an adjustable acceleration/deceleration function available to the user to ensure safe and smooth motor starts and stops. Opto-isolated driver inputs are employed to provide the user with the opportunity to directly connect to a PLC or PC for user-friendly control.
