New High Torque 5 Phase Geared Step Motor with Compact Driver
The new VextaŽ CSK-TH series from Oriental
Motor U.S.A. Corp., provides a high torque 5 phase hybrid step motor and low
backlash gearhead combined with a compact 24 volt dc board level modular driver.
The Vexta high torque 5 phase CSK564BA is integrated to a low backlash TH type gearhead with 5 gear ratios; 3.6: 1, 7.2: 1, 10: 1, 20: 1 and 30: 1. The step motor gearhead, CSK564BA-TG3.6, with a 3.6: 1 gear ratio, develops a running torque of 173 oz-in at 5000 pps (156 rpm). Step resolution is 0.2 degrees per full step.
The CSK564BA-TG30, with 30: 1 gear ratio, develops a running torque of 555 oz-in at 15,000 pps (60 rpm). Gearhead backlash ranges from 35 arc minutes on the TG3.6 down to 10 arc minutes on the TG30.
The Vexta compact modular driver can supply 24 vdc and 1.4 amps per phase in a full step/half step excitation mode to the various Vexta step motor/gearheads. Package size is 1.22 inch (high) by 2.83 (wide) by 3.03 inches (depth). The 5 lead CSK564 type step motor connects to the bipolar Pentagon drive configuration resident in this compact driver.
